Principal's Welcome Message
Posted 8/13/22

Hello El Dorado Bears!  This is Mrs. Febles with an important message.  We have all been busy preparing for our students to arrive Monday, August 13, 2022!  We are excited to welcome our new and retuning families.  Please know that our parent center is open in case you have any questions or need assistance.  If you’d like to volunteer at the school, please call the office and ask for our parent representative, Yohana.

Enrollment Update:

Be aware that our enrollment has greatly increased!  Please note that I’m working closely with district personnel to hire more staff.  This means that some students will be assigned a new teacher.  We are sorry for this inconvenience; I will send an update to the families affected when I have more information.  I thank you in advance for understanding.

COVID Protocol Update:

  • I wanted to remind you that the use of a face mask is recommended, (not mandated).  In addition, LAUSD will not be conducting weekly testing; only those who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or who have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive, will be required to test with a rapid antigen test.
  • Families will no longer need generate a Daily Pass!  You will use The Daily Pass portal to upload positive rapid antigen test results and for the District to notify individuals if they were a close contact of someone who tested positive.

Uniforms:

  • We are a uniform school!  Please make sure your child wears a royal blue or gray top with any navy-blue bottom.  No caps or hats allowed please.

Daily Schedule:

  • School starts at 8:00am and ends at 2:19 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Most Tuesdays we get out at 1:19, but dismissal time will vary throughout the year so please have the school calendar handy or check the school website for Tuesday dismissal times and for other school events. Our gates open at 7:30 am.  Please arrive early to avoid long lines!

Drop-off and Dismissal:

We will have various drop-off/Dismissal locations.  Student safety is our number one priority!  With that in mind, please don’t double park or leave minors unattended in a car.  Our staff needs to be on time so please don’t park in our staff parking lot.

  • Please see below:

ETK/TK/K - Kinder gates on Tyler St.

1st & 2nd grade- El Dorado main gate

3rd- 5th - El Casco St. or El Dorado main gate

Attendance:

Great habits start now!  It is very important that students know that school attendance is a high priority to you.  Schedule vacations and appointments during non-school hours/days and remember that we’d like students to have no more than 5-7 absences per school year.  Please partner with us to get our students Ready for the World!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Febles, Principal
